Letters and essays written by our clients

Diana Stewart and her daughter, Sarah Baily, have been clients and students at PVF since 1993.  Although Sarah is now at collega, and keeps Charly with her during the school year, she joins us at horse shows and returns to us in the summer.  Diana wrote this letter In response to a request for "unsung heros" by the Arabian Horse Association Magazine.  Her letter resulted in our inclusion in a feature article in August of 2004 by that title.

Diana writes:
The epitome of an unsung hero for this magnificent breed is an amazing trainer of both children and adults who is self taught but now an accomplished and respected horsewoman, Karen Bragg in  Sherwood Oregon.

Kendra began riding with us in 1995.  She began sponsoring Echo in 1998 and purchased her in 2001.  Echo had spent quite a bit of time standing around a pasture before she came here, and Kendra had her work cut out for her.

Kendra graduated high school in 2004 and now spends her winters out of state at college, while Echo remained here, sponsored to one of our young riders.

Kendra lost Echo to cancer in 2005.  She hopes to resume riding when she graduates from College.  We certainly hope she does.

Kendra wrote the following essay as part of her college entrance applications.  We are pleased to share it with you here.

Kendra writes:

What relationship has meant the most to me and why?

Tyler Frisbee began riding at the PVF in 1996.  She rode sponsored horses, then her own horses, in 4-H, open and Arabian shows.  She graduated high school in 2004, and before she left for Dartmouth, she wrote an "open letter to the barn".  We are delighted to share it with you, here.

Tyler writes:

Open Letter to the Barn,
Sometime this fall, my grandpa asked me what in my life had the biggest effect on me.  My first answer was obvious, "my family."  The second surprised him, "the barn".

Amanda Howell began riding at PVF in 2005 when she was 10. In April, 2006, she wrote a paper about her riding here for her English Class, and shared it with us.

Amanda writes:

Karen Bragg is an inspiration and idol to me and I hope that I can be as awesome as she is when I graduate from college. She teaches you to ride a horse and have fun. She always lets me know when I do something that catches her eye,
